Summer Arts Camp: Now five days a week!

Four weeks of hands-on creativity for kids 5-12, working with professional artists on everything from improv and storytelling to painting, sculpture and printmaking.

The Arts Collinwood Summer Arts Camp is designed to provide students with a small group experience. Not only do students explore a variety of art media, they learn to work as a team, and create a lifetime of memories.

Schedule

July 5 – July 30. Monday – Friday, from 9:00am to 12:00pm in the Arts Collinwood Community Arts Center. The camp is for children ages 5- 12. A different curriculum will be offered each week.
Program

Week 1: Theatre Games, Percussion and Music
Children learn the art of acting through fun games and theater exercises. The foundation of music is explored as children learn about rhythm and beat in a hands on, energetic atmosphere.

Week 2: Collage and Relief Printmaking

Children explore aspects of visual design through collage games, and postermaking exercises. Relief Printing will immerse them into the wonderful world of print making, giving them a strong foundation in the compositional elements that make the basis of all print making techniques.

Week 3: Story Making and Painting

Students learn how to craft their own stories and make storyboards. By combining this week with painting, students illustrate the stories they create, while learning the foundation of  painting.

Week 4: Drama Production and Costume Design
