Vinyasa Flow is a yoga style in which poses and movements are synchronized with the breath. The teacher instructs students to move from one pose to another on an exhale or inhale. It is called “flow” because of the smooth way that poses are linked together. Vinyasa flow is both aerobic and strength building and, because of the synchronized breathing, it is calming for the mind and nervous system. It is a style that can be easily adapted for students of all fitness levels, ages, and abilities.
Lyz Bly,Ph.D., RYT

Tapping into her academic experience as a historian and gender/race studies scholar, Lyz helps students use yoga as a tool for navigating the complexities of contemporary American life.
