Take a look at how the local Girl Scouts joined Arts Collinwood volunteers and helped them beautify the streets before the Waterloo Arts Fest.

Get out the sunscreen, the beach umbrella, the shovels and pails – Arts Collinwood is going to the beach for a whole afternoon and evening!
The day starts with a beach clean-up (an excellent opportunity to collect found objects to enhance your sculpture) with the collaboration of Alliance for the Great Lakes. Then, unless you’re really a pro, take in the sand-sculpting workshop at 2:00, to learn some tips and techniques, before entering the contest itself (prizes – usually plentiful, remember that the sculptors are mostly children and artists – will be announced at 6:00); and hang around for the campfire cook-out – hot dogs, s’mores and storytelling at sunset – to wrap things up. Or choose any of these wonderful ways to appreciate our great lakefront.
Villa Angela Beach, enter from Lakeshore Blvd at E174.
This is a free event! Snacks and drinks will be for sale. Don’t forget to bring your tools!Check out the above photos from last year’s event!
